The Characters

  • An illustrated girl sitting cross-legged on grass in a forest surrounded by green plants and trees, wearing a purple hoodie, light blue shorts, and sneakers, looking to her left with a surprised or curious expression.

    Sydney

Sydney is the oldest sibling and takes her role seriously. She’s naturally curious and loves to solve problems, often stepping in as the voice of reason when things get tricky. With a notebook in hand and a thousand questions in her mind, she notices details others might miss. Sydney has a big heart — she cares deeply for her younger brothers and tries to guide them, even if they don’t always listen. Her greatest strength is her ability to stay calm and think things through, even in the middle of an adventure.

  • A cartoon girl with messy brown hair, wearing a gray tank top and red pants, is pointing towards the Taj Mahal in India while standing by a water canal, with her finger on her lips in a thinking pose.

    Cairo

Cairo is full of energy — always ready to climb, run, or dive headfirst into a new challenge. He admires his big sister but often wants to prove he can be just as capable. Brave and bold, he sometimes takes risks without thinking them through, which can get him into trouble. But his adventurous spirit also leads the siblings to discoveries they might have missed. Cairo’s sense of humor and playfulness balance out Sydney’s seriousness, making him a fun and fearless travel companion.

  • A girl with long hair running on a grassy field, holding a slingshot, wearing a yellow t-shirt with a green star and the word 'LOWT' on it, blue shorts, and red sneakers.

    Everest

The youngest of the three, Everest sees the world with wide-eyed wonder. To him, everything is magical — a stone on the ground, a bird in the sky, a strange word in another language. He often asks questions that surprise his siblings, reminding them to slow down and notice the small details. Though he’s little, Everest has a big imagination and an open heart. His innocent perspective often helps the others see things in a new light and find joy in the simplest moments.

The Story Behind the Story

Cover of a bilingual book titled 'The Seventh Sun: A Tribal Tale from Odisha' featuring colorful sun illustrations in red, orange, and yellow and text in English, Hindi, and Odia.

“My children are the heart and soul behind The Adventure Globe. But the spark that set this story in motion came from an unexpected gift.

In 2018, just a few months into our travels, another full-time traveling mother gave Luca, our youngest, then only two years old, a beautiful Indian children’s book. She wanted him to have a story of his own while on the road. From the very first read, he was captivated. That little book became a constant companion, pulled out again and again with the same joy and excitement as if it were brand new.

Watching Luca’s delight reminded me of the power of stories, how they can travel with us, open windows to the world, and spark wonder in a child’s eyes. With The Adventure Globe series, I wanted to bring that same sense of discovery to children everywhere, whether they journey across the globe or simply turn the pages from home.”

Happy reading, and happy travels!
